Downloading RustKit

RustKit is distributed as a Windows installer (RustKit-Setup-1.8.0.exe). After launch, it will automatically install the app into a convenient folder and create shortcuts on the desktop and in the Start Menu.

To uninstall it, use the standard Windows “Apps” section or “Programs and Features”.

RustKit is a utility for adjusting visuals, displaying a crosshair overlay, and optimizing Windows while playing Rust.

The program works through standard Windows mechanisms. It does not modify game files, does not interact with process memory, and does not affect in-game data. All changes are applied at the operating system level.

Installation steps:

1. Wait until the installer has fully downloaded to your device.

2. Run the installer — Windows may ask you to confirm administrator permissions. This is required to install the program.

3. Follow the installer instructions — choose the installation folder and the shortcuts you want.

4. After installation RustKit will launch automatically.

Supported systems: Windows 10 and Windows 11, 64-bit.

This is a standard Windows SmartScreen reaction to applications without a commercial publisher code-signing certificate. By itself, this does not mean the file is dangerous — Windows simply has not collected enough reputation data for the file yet.

If you see a warning:

1. Make sure the installer was downloaded from the official RustKit website.
2. Click “More info” → “Run anyway”.
3. If the file was quarantined, open Windows Security protection history and restore it manually.

We recommend checking the following:

1. Download the installer again — if the download was interrupted, the file may be incomplete.

2. Check Windows Security protection history — make sure RustKit.exe was not automatically removed or quarantined.

3. Run the installer as administrator — right-click it → “Run as administrator”.
